Bridget Brogdon’s full-service houseboat concierge business takes care of the little details for Lake Lanier boaters. She recently started Marine Maids & Mechanics, based in Buford to provide a wide range of services from pre-visit and post-visit housekeeping to planning boating parties on the lake.
“I know you won’t believe this but I really have a passion for organizing events and for cleaning,” she said. “And because of my extensive network of contacts at Lake Lanier, I can help boat owners with that range from planning a party to finding the right mechanic when there’s a technical issue.”
Brogdon grew up in Marietta, but she has lived at Lake Lanier since 1999. She and her family have owned about 10 boats and with that experience, developing her business came naturally.
“It was really an outgrowth of managing VRBO lake houses and combining my boating experience, and it has grown into a houseboat concierge,” she said. “People on the lake need an honest, dependable person to help facilitate all aspects of owning a boat, and that’s what I’ve based my business on.”
Marine Maids & Mechanics business provides houseboat cleaning, boat wellness checks and mechanical coordination. Her network of experts includes a long-time lake boat mechanic skilled on working on all types of boats. She’s available on call and by appointment.
“My services are not just for houseboats,” Brogdon said. “Our event-planning and event readiness services can handle anything from creating menus and connecting boaters with caterers to booking bands and making sure your boat is ready for your guests.”
She can stock the refrigerator for a long weekend, hire caterers, decorate for a party and even provide videos of a boat when the owner is away to provide peace of mind.
“Just think – your boat will be ready when you are,” she said. “You can just walk onto your boat, welcome your guests and have nothing else to worry about. I know my way around the lake community and that’s a big benefit for my clients.”
