Healthy choices and satisfying meals drive the businesses at J. Christopher’s in Flowery Branch. While most people think of the restaurant as a great place for breakfast, the menu includes a wide choice of salads, soups, sandwiches and burgers.
“We actually opened the day after Christmas, but then the coronavirus interrupted everyone’s lives,” said Harvey Glass, area supervisor over four J. Christopher’s locations. “Since things opened up a bit this summer, our business is rebounding nicely.”
J. Christopher’s began in Marietta in 1996 as a neighborhood daytime breakfast and lunch restaurant. Founders Jeff McCann and Chris Brogdon created a diverse menu of fresh-made items, from omelets and breakfast skillets to specialty sandwiches, pancakes and waffles.
“We are known for our fresh food and selection,” Glass said. “But a great deal of our success lies in the commitment and dedication of our staff – the front end and in the kitchen. They’re friendly, young and you can really tell how much they care about our customers.”
Some of the most popular items are the blueberry crunch pancakes with fresh blueberries and homemade granola and the turkey avocado personal-sized cast iron skillet with jack cheese and two eggs on a bed of potatoes. Glass said his favorite is the Maple Toast.
“My favorite menu item is the maple toast, made with thick Challah bread soaked in maple and vanilla batter, grilled and dusted with powdered sugar,” Glass said. “It’s one of our top-selling entrees.”
As a neighborhood eatery, J. Christopher’s supports the community, including the Girls Fishing Team at Buford High School, and projects with Flowery Branch High School, Cherokee Bluff High School and Davis Middle School.
“It’s been great to connect with people in the area,” he said. “That’s one of the best things about our being here: the friendly people in the community.”
J. Christopher’s is open Monday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is located at 5857 Spout Springs Road, Suite A306, Flowery Branch. The website is www.jchristophers.com and the chain has 22 Georgia locations.
