2025 Christmas on Green Street, Gainesville

The City of Gainesville presents the annual Christmas on Green Street celebration! This magical event includes a parade of antique cars, holiday floats, marching bands, and community groups starting at the Gainesville Civic Center and continuing all the way down Green Street! The traditional Lighting of the Rotary Tree happens when the parade is finished – approximately 5:45 pm.

New this year: The Green St. Santa Sprint – a one mile sprint down Green St. before the parade begins. Registration required. Signup online: https://runsignup.com/Race/GA/Gainesville/GreenStreetSantaSprint

2-4pm: Activities and Performances at the Historic Homes on Green Street
3pm: Floats and Antique Car Judging Begins
3:30pm: Walking Groups Stage at Civic Center, Roads clear of pedestrians
3:55pm: New this year – Green Street Santa Sprint Begins!
4:05m: Christmas Parade Begins
5:45pm (or whenever the parade is finished): Rotary Tree Lighting
7pm: Roads reopen (or whenever roads are cleared)
