Burton
Charles Burton will take over the helm for the Lake Lanier Islands Development Authority as executive director, replacing Bill Donohue, who is retiring June 30.
Burton most recently has worked as general manager of Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa as well as regional manager for Amicalola and Unicoi State Park lodges.
Gov. Brian Kemp recommended Burton to replace Donohue in mid-May and the LLIDA Board accepted the recommendation. Burton will begin the job on June 15.
We’re dishing out upcoming events and specials across Lanier for Labor Day weekend 2024. Highlights include the water park, fireworks and music at Margaritaville/Lanier Islands; the Splash Pad at Laurel Park; Kayak/SUP rentals at the Kayak Shack at Longwood Park; a Labor Day Sail at Windsong Sailing; and live music at Fish Tales, Pig Tales, Pelican Pete’s, Skogies and Twisted Oar.
