This spring, Merlin Marine earned its certification as a Mercury Racing service shop, formally becoming Georgia’s only service facility qualified to work on the latest Mercury Racing engines and off-shore powerboats.

“As the newer Mercury racing outboards and stern drives became more technical and complex, we realized we needed to up our game and seek a partnership with Mercury Racing,” said Denise Garrison, co-owner of the business with her husband, Tony. “When we contacted Mercury about the process, they encouraged us. They told us there was no other shop in our area that met the criteria and experience needed to service performance boats for Mercury Racing.”

Merlin Marine specializes in high-performance boats. They rebuild and blue print Mercury outdrives including SSM VI and M8s. They also handle everything from service and maintenance, plus dash and control upgrades, electronics to upholstery.

The Garrisons’ two techs, Drew Short and Clayton Jenkins, will be pursuing their racing certifications after this year’s boating season. Basic classes are held in Suwanee and advance training takes place in Dallas.

In business for more than 40 years, Merlin Marine is located at 1037 Parkway Court, Suite G, Buford. The phone number is 770 932-6694 and the website is merlinmarine.net.
