This year’s Pirates of Lanier Poker Run is set for Friday and Saturday, July 16-17. It will be based at Margaritaville.
“We’re already making plans for the event this summer,” said Dale Ozaki, president of Lanier Partners, organizers of the event. “Because we were unable to hold the event last year because of the pandemic, we are certain that people will be more than ready to participate in 2021.”
Organizers are making it a two-day event, starting with the Friday lunch “Cheeseburgers in Paradise. Friday night’s Captain’s party, a ticketed event, will include the mandatory safety briefing with the Department of Natural Resources and the Corps of Engineers. Ozaki said the meeting will also be live-streamed.
Saturday’s Poker Run will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with at least six card stops. That night, the awards party will include entertainment by Fly Betty Band and conclude with fireworks.
Ozaki said that piratesoflanier.com will be updated with details by April 10; registration will be open in early May.
