  • Aug. 1-2 – Big E Festival held at Loudermilk Boarding House Museum in Cornelia. Time: 5 p.m. Features barbecue, boiled peanuts and other food, live Elvis impersonators, tours of Everything Elvis, door prizes, trivia, raffles, auction, cash awards and prizes for Best Elvis.   • Aug. 9 – Dahlonega Literary Festival and Writers’ Conference features book readings scheduled in restaurants and galleries around Dahlonega’s historic square, as well as book sales, lectures, workshops, “Lunch with the Stars,” costumed characters for the Children section and literary themed Scavenger Hunt.
